Location The Oberoi Grand is centrally located in the main business and shopping district of Kolkata (Park Street, BBD Bag & Chowranghee). The hotel is 22 kilometres from Kolkata Airport, 6 kilometres from Howrah Railway Station and 3 kilometres from Sealdah Railway Station. Lobby
The hotel has a big, classy, calming and sophisticated lobby with a grace not many other hotels could carry off. It has the ultimate and essential Oberoi touched with great attention to detail. A huge and very beautiful crystal chandelier hangs front the ceiling, in the centre of the lobby above a wooden base and white marble top centre table, atop which sits boldly a vase with a yellow flower arrangement. The seating spaces are endowed with the finest of Kashmiri carpets on which you will see off white sofas and marble top centre tables. The wooden reception counter has mustard coloured padding on it and goes very well with the rest of the space. Beside the reception are the cashier and the concierge done up in the same fashion. All the areas are well marked to allow easy and well informed access to the guests. The entire space is fragmented with marble pillars, gilded engravings and carved borders. A golden framed mirror is mounted on the wall above a grand tabletop and the complete area is dotted with well kept plants in bronze pots. Floor lamps that look like inverted lanterns add to the charm in this space along with the colourful dots of flowers and plants.
