Orissa Tribal Tour 13 Days

Bhubaneshwar is the starting point to travel into the tribal belt of Orissa. The tour is visiting the various tribal villages like Baliguda, Rayagada, Jeypore, Taptapani where we see the primitive Kutia Kondh Tribe, the Dingaria Kondh Tribe, Bonda Tribe Sanaparoja and Mali Tribes. The tour is meeting and mixing with these tribes and learning their life-style. The stay during the tribal tour is in lodges and in basic guesthouses. One should not expect any luxury.

Itinerary Details

Destinations Covered : Delhi - Bhubaneswar - Baliguda - Belghar - Rayagada - Chatikona - Koraput - Jaipore - Ankadeli - Lamptaput - Kunduli - Nandapur - Taptapani - Chilika Lake - Bhubaneswar - Delhi

Day 01: Delhi
Arrival Delhi, transfer to hotel. Afternoon half day sightseeing tour of New Delhi visiting India Gate, Qutub Minar, Presidents House, Lotus Temple etc. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 02: Delhi
Morning half day sightseeing tour of Old Delhi visiting Red Fort, Shanti Vana, Raj Ghat a memorial to Mahatma Gandhi the father of Nation, etc. Afternoon free. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: Delhi - Bhubaneswar - Baliguda
Morning transfer to domestic airport to board flight for Bhubaneswar. Arrival Bhuvaneswar, drive Baliguda. After Breakfast, drive to Baliguda enroute visiting typical Orissan villages, Picnic Lunch on the way. On arrived at Baliguda check-in to hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 04: Baliguda - Belghar - Rayagada
Early morning after breakfast, drive to Belghar to visit trek into the villages of Kutia Kondh Tribes inside the forest and mountains. The Kondhs were once famous in the history for their Human Sacrifice. The Kondhs are simple, frank and very hospitable. They are healthy, strong. After visiting them, picnic lunch, and proceed to Rayagada. Dinner and overnight at hotel in Rayagada.

Day 05: Rayagada - Chatikona - Koraput - Jaipore
After breakfast drive down to Chatikona to watch the interesting colorful weekly market of Dongaria Kondh Tribes. This tribe is one of most primitive tribe of the Kondh's they live in the high slopes of the Niyamagiri Hills. These people are horticulturists. They grow of Orissa Tribalsfruits like Orange. Pineapple, Banana Etc. The male people are using earring. Nose-ring and keep their hair like woman. Later drive to Jeypore enroute visit some villages of Paraja tribes lunch en route. On arrival at Jaipore, transfer to hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 06 : Jeypore - Ankadeli - Lamptaput - Jeypore
After breakfast, drive to Ankadeli to visit the famous Bonda tribes, [A sub race of Austromongoloids] who comes once every, week for their weekly market. It is a unique opportunity to see such a colorful concentration of typical tribals at one place. Most interesting is to watch the Bonda woman in their colorful Jewellaries and marketing commodities. Later continue drive to Lampatput and the near by villages are famous for another interesting and primitive tribes of Orissa is the "Gadaba". They are one of the early settlers of this country and trace their origin to the time of Ramayana. Your can also watch the famous and beautiful dance of this tribe the Dehmsa. The Gadabas are musical. Return drive to Jeypore. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Jeypore - Kunduli - Nandapur - Jeypore
After breakfast, drive to Kunduli weekly market. It is the biggest market of the tribal area where you will find the main concentration of the beautiful Sana Paraja & Mali tribes. Later Proceed to some of villages to watch the beautiful village life etc. & we will make you small trekking inside the beautiful valley of Nandpur. Evening return drive to Jeypore. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 8: Jeypore - Taptapani
After breakfast, drive to Taptapani enroute visit some Bada Paraja villages. Bada Paraja are well dressed with more ornamental in the body. Also visit some Saora Villages. Later drive down to Taptapani. If anywhere nature reveals its enigmatic charisma; it is here in Orissa TribalsTaptapani, an exotic world of wonder. Enjoy the nature close to your heart and carry the memory years to come. A hot spring which till dates the local habitat use on a mark of Blessing. Arrive in the evening at Taptapani, check-into hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 9:Taptapani - Chilika Lake - Bhubaneswar
After breakfast drive down to Chilika Lake, the largest brackish Water lake in Asia. In winter Chilika aflutter with thousands of migratory birds as far as from Siberia. Cruise around the lake. Later continue drive to Bhubaneswar, watch the Salt Production en route on arrival at Bhubaneswar, check in to hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Bhubaneswar - Delhi
Day free. Evening transfer to airport to board flight for Delhi. Arrival Delhi, transfer from domestic airport to international airport to board flight for home.
